Frosted Fox
Wes Anderson’s film “Fantastic Mr. Fox” was the inspiration for this bake shop. Having owned and operated a bakery for nine years, Val was excited to design a shop with a clear and bold vision.
Saturated Kelly green, copper, and animal portrait wallpaper were used to convey the branded imagery of this now beloved cake shop. The design of the space allows the bakers to work on a central platform or stage. Only cakes being frosted can be seen from the front windows because the lip of the counter sits just above the height of the turning cake pedestals used for decorating. This hides clutter and features the baker’s art. Display tables were designed on castors with removable glass, so that they can be rearranged for classes and tastings.
