PRESIDENTIAL LOBBY

In the main lobby at the flagship building to the Presidential City on City Avenue, the artist Nick Nehez, was commissioned to permanently install 20 of his pieces from the collection “Show Me the Money”.

This work deals with the deconstruction of money by collaging torn patterns digitally copied from American legal tender. Using this method, the artist creates a fictitious portrait gallery of “presidents” with fragmented copied facial features. This methodology is further explored when the pieces are revealed only to scale back to a mock Damask pattern.

Custom neon chandeliers and sconces nod to a White House circa Nancy Reagan décor.
